I tutor struggling readers and help them become confident, fluent readers who actually enjoy books. Though my work can help any student, it’s targeted to students who are dyslexic or if dyslexia is suspected.

What I offer
Online tutoring
Online tutoring via zoom. A laptop is needed, a Chromebook will not be sufficient.
In Person Tutoring
I'm providing in person tutoring from my home in Queens, NYC.
*This program requires a commitment of at least two 50 minute sessions per week in order to make progress. More can be done if you would like faster results.
Barton Tutoring
The curriculum I use for tutoring is called the Barton Reading and Spelling System, which is based on Orton Gillingham.The Barton System is a multi-sensory, structured, sequential teaching method based on American English. It will help students improve their reading, spelling, and writing skills, especially students who are dyslexic or if dyslexia is suspected.
The Warning Signs of Dyslexia
Dyslexia is a common learning difficulty that mainly causes problems with reading, writing and spelling. It's a specific learning difficulty, which means it causes problems with certain abilities used for learning, such as reading and writing. Unlike a learning disability, intelligence isn't affected.
